As we embark on a new year I look forward to speaking about some interesting topics. Last year I traveled the country and did a lot of speaking about social networking sites and their potential harm to employers. This year, I am taking it a step further with a new presentation: Recruiting and Hiring Liabilities – Protecting Your Organization from the Harmful Effects of Web 2.0. Thus far the feedback has been tremendous. I already have many dates booked to give this presentation at various conferences in 2010 and hope to you can make it to one.
The premise is simple, Web 2.0 has opened the doors for tons of information and also many ways crooks are using this information to their advantage. I will be discussing among other things; Social Networking Sites, Google, Diploma and Employment Mills, Screen Scraping and Instant Screening. All very timely topics as there seems to be news stories covering them every day. Without giving away too much I will be teaching employers how to avoid litigation with the EEOC, FTC and from Consumers. In addition helping employers uncover such things as fake degrees and false employment histories.
I look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming presentations (higlights listed below). Click here for a complete list of presentations.
