11/6/2012 Storm Update: New York & New Jersey Courts Still Closed
November 6, 2012
The New York Office of Court Administration (the main state repository for criminal records) and most, if not all courts in the state of New Jersey continue to be closed in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy. Unfortunately, we don’t have any information as to when they might reopen. The following message has been posted on the New York OCA website since Tuesday, October 30th:
Due to effects of Hurricane Sandy the NYS OCA office is closed. Please be advised that results that include a criminal history will not be returned until OCA’s offices are reopened. Please continue to check this message board for updates. Thank you.
We’ve also tried to contact them by phone but all lines into the court seem to be down.
As far as New Jersey courts are concerned, they too remain closed with no information on reopening. We will continue to monitor this situation and update you as soon as we have relevant information to share.
